Hardworking Dad works an 8-5 job, takes a quick break to eat, hang out with the kids and then starts his freelance projects until sometimes 11:00 at night.
HE NEEDED A BREAK!
His parents have been serving an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nairobi, Kenya. Brother #3 and he decided this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Africa with their own personal tour guides. Originally, they were going to take an empty suitcase to help their parents bring home gifts. However, their parents are teaching men and women in Africa about job skills/resources. Grandma B thought filling the empty luggage with fabrics and magazines would be more beneficial. The women there have sewing machines and make pillows and purses with the fabric. With the magazines, they create lovely beads to make various types of jewelry. Our family was thrilled to help in our own small way.
Hard Working Dad still has jet lag... sleeping and awake at the strangest time.
But we're so grateful for his safe trip to such a beautiful country.
