Back in 2009, when I began my Facebook Account, there was this popular "tag" to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.
Here is what I wrote back then
and in italics what I think about these tidbits today.... 4 years later:
1. Legless lizards and eels... give me the heebeegeebees. Add naked mole rats to the list.
2. So do possum and rat tails.
3. I love trying new foods as long as they're not too spicy or take longer than 2 minutes to chew.
I now have been diagnosed with sensitivities to dairy, eggs and also must limit my consumption of soy and wheat. So though I love trying new foods, some foods just don't love me back! But I'll always give anything (within my allowed boundaries) a try.
4. I appreciate BYU more now than when I attended.
5. I enjoy watching BYU football and singing the Cougar Fight Song! I also enjoy watching the Sacramento Kings-win or lose.
6. Playing the piano is therapeutic.
7. Singing silly songs cheers me up (though my daughter is the only other one in my family who enjoys listening to them). Lovely Daughter makes up her own songs now and prefers her songs over mine.
8. I have 4 bright, creative and amazing children.
9. I love the joyful laughter of my children.
10. I miss my Dad and his big Hawaiian laughter.
11. My husband is my Bestest Friend.
12. I love talking to my Mom and siblings sometimes for hours (sorry for all those who get a busy signal if you call my home...keep trying). No busy signal anymore, just continued ringing.
13. And I don't like call waiting, so even if you think I should get it, I will never, ever succumb to getting that option on my phone. Just know that I'm probably home and speaking with my family who I love dearly! We got call waiting. I still don't like it and our Caller ID does not work on our phones when I'm on another line. It's pretty annoying!
14. I know how to make my own laundry detergent. Also can make All Purpose Cleaners.
15. My sanity and temper are determined by the cleanliness of my floors though they are rarely picked up enough for my small space and 4 growing kids. Not as small of a space since we purchased a home. However, the kids continue to grow, and we are spread to every corner of our home.
16. The quote I use most often with my family ... "I'm only one person!" Click on the highlighted quote and check out the song at 3:13. Yes, and sometimes when I say or sing this quote, I think of this scene.
17. I want to visit my ancestral village in China.
18. I want to understand Cantonese and maybe even speak it someday.
19. I enjoy learning and doing many things but not proficient in any.
20. I appreciate art and am even an art docent volunteer at my kid's school but can barely draw a stick person. No longer an art docent, but homeschool my kids where they excel way above my drawing abilities.
21. I love the sweet smells of a baby.
22. Dark Chocolate is essential to my diet.
23. I took courses in 4 different languages....see #19.
24. I love Hawaiian greetings! Aloooooha! xoxoxoxo
25. I admire those who are quick to share their inspirational thoughts and experiences without realizing how much they help me. I feel often tongue-tied and inadequate when I am publicly speaking.
