And so the journey began... Thursday, July 15.
We left at 5:30 AM and arrived in Salem, UT by 7:10 PM.
After eating a BBQ dinner with the Ohana (the next post will be about the 4 family reunions we attended), we arrived at our rental at 9:30 PM and found yummy cookies made by a local baker.
The next morning, we decided to take a hike.
After the hike, we had originally wanted to visit another location. However, the weather when we came down into the valley was 105 degrees! So, we altered our adventure and went bowling... indoors.
(yes, very-involved mom and daughter lost)We later had an Italian dinner with the Ohana!
On Saturday morning, July 17, Hardworking Dad and Very Involved Mom celebrated their 18th anniversary with the entire town of Fountain Green with a chuckwagon breakfast and parade for the annual Lamb Days. We thought about having the lamb sandwiches. However, the line had about 50 people and we needed to head out to the Ohana Reunion for the luau dinner.
On Sunday, we spent the day with VI Mom's family and were honored to attend our beautiful Canada niece's (or cousin's) baptism. A wonderful way to spend a Sabbath day!
On Monday, the boys of the family played with slingshots and army men at the rental in the morning. Then we went swimming at a pool with a cousin while HW Dad picked up artwork that was displayed at the BYU HFAC alumni gallery. We then went school clothes shopping and then went to HW Dad's mini family reunion.
Tuesday, we relaxed in the beautiful setting of Fountain Green.
Wednesday, we went to a Mormon Historical Site. Our tour guide was as patient as he could be with ten children. We learned a lot about a pioneer's life in Cove Fort.

We all spent quite a bit of time trying to learn a pioneer game.
After we left the cousins, we headed back to Fountain Green and stopped at the beautiful Manti Temple.
Thursday, we took our adventures to nearby canyon. This place is the perfect place to go rock climbing if you're interested it that kind of sport. We were simply trying to find petroglyphs. Before we started our hike, there was another family who told us of a cave. However, they were not sure which trail lead to it. The Left Fork Trail lead to the petroglyphs but not the cave.
Maple Canyon was amazing to see these odd conglomerate rock mountains.
After our hike, we ate at the Burger Bar. DELICIOUS!
The boys all headed to the movies to watch The Sorcerers Apprentice.
They all gave positive reviews of the movie to the girls when they came home.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday we spent time with Grandma A's family near an almost hidden serene town.
We left at about 9:30 AM on Sunday to head back home.
Outside of Elko, Nevada, we visited the California Trail Historic Interpretive Center. They only had about 3 exhibits completed, but could see that more will be added in the future. This will be a great place to visit each time we go through Nevada to see their continued progress.
The boys all headed to the movies to watch The Sorcerers Apprentice.

We are tired, but grateful for the time we spent together as a family and able to see so much of our Heavenly Father's creations and His Hand directing the lives of pioneers.
